The Village of Heritage
( 2nd
of 5 – From The Heritage Edition Poems)
(Gen. 1: 1, 26, 27, 28
/ Eph. 3: 14, 15 / Acts 17: 26 / Matt. 13: 10–15)
The Village of Our Heritage
Has A Great
Cobblestone Bridge
that Leads Into The Mountain (Isa. 2: 2-4)
the One With The Waterfall-Fountain
The Bridge Stretches Over Surging Seas
It Is Very Steady In Strong Breeze
& Any Carriage-Rides – With Time To See
May Gaze Into Misty History …
… from The Village
of Heritage
Every Path Leads To That Bridge
Yea, Every Trail & Lane In Village
from Our College & Other’s Orphanage …
even From The Village
Square
All Roads Start From There
Passing By Every Hut & House-Yardage
even By Gated-Manors That Are Mortgaged
… The Heroic
Village of Heritage
Every Person There Displays Courage
For Nearby Woods – Once Had Wolves-Savage!
People Barred Doors Against Their Carnage
and Brave Dwellers Built A Broad-Barrage
of Iron & Logs & Boulders So Large
and Posted Keen-Eyed Heritage Guards
All Around The Village Wards
The Prudent Village
of Heritage …
Also Prevents Spills & Soil Spoilage:
from Facts(Tories)
& Printery-Published
of False-Info That
Fools The Publics
(& Blacksmiths Who Forge Race-Rubbish) …
for Horse-Drawn Wagons or Buggy’s Rampage
are Quickly Carted Off To The Garbage !
& Residents Only Rummage Thru A Wreckage
To Sort Real From Rust In Heritage …
And The Mill’s Sawdust & Drainage
Is Taken To The Marsh Called ‘Vain’s Edge’
Filling Fog-Bogs w/Sand-Bags Kept-In-Check
A Brief But Necessary Task of Re-Collect …
Oh! The Quaint Village
of Heritage
Celebrates With Daily Treks To Bridge !
That Leads Into The Mountain
(Isa. 2: 2-4)
With The Clear Waterfall-Fountain
And The Market Shops In Our Village
Opens Stalls With Onions, Potatoes & Cabbage
Bread, Cheese, Roast-Rabbits & Radish
for Those Who’ve Come Far & Are Famished
(and Want Their Lineage Established)
(Isa. 25: 6)
also Sliced Tomatoes & Pickled Relish
Honey-Butter Spread On Meatpie Sandwich
and Everyone Gets A Customary-Dish:
A Stew of Lamb
& Almonds & Fish
and Wine Drinking In Moderate-Dosage
To Go Along With The Salad & Sausage
In A Celebration We
Sod-Pottage (Gen. 25: 29)
In Our Village Hall & In Each Cottage
We Celebrate Our Combined Heritage !
(by Keeping Our Birthright To The Bridge)
In The Celebration of Heritage
Everyone Gets A Bowl of Spiced Porridge
& Fruit-Preserves, Jellied, Jams – Also Omelets
With Cold Water or Ale or Squeezed Pomegranates
Or Fresh Milk-Pails With Currants of Knowledge
setting Amid Carefully Cultivated Foliage
Served On Heirlooms of Silver Not Tarnished
& Gold Cups With Healing Herbs As Garnish
Arranged On Copper Tables Burnished
That The Village of Heritage Furnished
Then We Plant & Put In True Pots, A Pledge
to Help Adorn Every Resident’s Window Ledge
with A Colorful Garland, Posy & Corsage
along With Memoirs Affixed In Decoupage
In The Gaiety & Honoring of Heritage
Where Only One’s Hello Is Held Hostage
The Village
of All Heritage …
Built On Future-Dreams Yet Still Vintage
Thru Stones of Beauty Upon The Bridge
Reaches Horizons Past Human’s Ridge
At The Village
of All Heritage
At Its Bridge – Hangs That Old Adage …
‘One Must Know Where You Come From
To Know Where You’re Going To Come’
And If History Repeats Itself
It’s A Tutor of What Should Be Kept or Left
And What Our Forebears Paid In Passage
In Tradition, Culture and Heritage
for Our Children & Our Children’s Children
from Our Ancestors and Those Before Them
It’s Important To Know Our Own Origin
and The Author – Who Had It Written …
and The Why & Where & When & How
So Others Know Truth Then – As We Know Now
It’s A Protection Against Poison-Pens & Plagues
& Plagiarism, Phonies & Power-Crazed-Phase
& Prejudice & Mind-Prisons & Maze
But Humans In Heritage Can Find Their Place
As Partners Preparing For Posterity
Blue Ribbon Prize ? Family
Prosperity
Let The Children Play Sport of ‘Who Are We?’
& Dance
Circle Games of ‘Identity’
& Friendly Kick Balls of Scrimmage
& Play Tag & Peg-Games, Since Cribbage
and Hide & Seek – Each Other In Village
Our Precious Offspring In Our Image
They Are Both Our ‘Hope &
Offering’ Arbitrage
Grown From Farm–Flesh & Blood Acreage
and Pairs Walk Hand In Hand Engaged
When Ready For Next-Heritage-Stage
They Received Advice From Village-Sage
As Entrusted Elders Turns Over The Page
They’ve Provided Wise & Loving Parentage
(So There’s No Hate Nor Harm … In Heritage)
No Room For Carved
Idols or Rival-Fakers
Nor Artifact-Tools
of Traitors or Haters
But From Antiquity
& Throughout Every Age
Here Are Heirlooms
of Our Rich Heritage:
An Amethyst Brooch
for Best Behavior
A Jade-Tea-Set Plus
Leaves Mint-Flavor
Diamond Earrings
To Hear In Angels’ Acres
A Swan-Fan That
Opens In Ivory-Favors
Bronze Lantern Made
of Pure Light-Labor
(and a Lamp, a ‘Lectric,
& now a Laser)
A Pearl
Necklace Linking To All Neighbors
Marble Mirror To
Image Us In Our Maker
A Medallion From
Mountain-Mover-Shaker
Music Box With Miracle-Tunes
of Nature
A Rose – Pressed
Between Holy Papers
Love-Letters Written
– Read Now & Later
A Portrait of Our
Parents’ Prayers
Rainbow Ribbons
Sparkling Like Glaciers
A Locke of Hair,
Tress-Tied & Curl-Layered
(there Was A Veil
But It Vanished In Vapor)
below The Bridge
That Allows Belief-Tracers
Plowshares Made
From Warrior’s Sabres
(still digs thru
dirt & danger like Razors)
There’s A
Treasure-Map With Us As Claimer
& Mosaic of
Mercy-Acts – Props In Theatre
A Priceless Tapestry
Wove From Creator
Glass-Chain
of Command Kept Straight & Greater
A 1st
Century-Coin From First Engraver
& Brass &
Silver Horns & Expert Players
A Wheel In A Wheel
Which Whips All Racers
Sweet Songs of Sanctuary,
We Sing & Savor
Sapphire-Studded
Cup To Salute Savior
Original Pen-Works
of Orator-Praisers
Seascapes &
Star-Scenes of Best Painters
& Very Knowledge
of Cobblestone Pavers
Strong Suits of
Armor That Made Us Braver
Ceremonial Rites
of Truth-Oath-Takers
Life’s Recipe
Served By “La’ Maitre”
A Millennial Clock
Tick-Tocks – Time Savers
Watch
That Works Thru Time & Never Wavers
& Mother’s
Ring That Our Father Gave Her
right over there
in our little Village …
in
The Promised Land/Title/Deed – None Pillage
At The Village of Our Heritage (Gen. 1: 26, 27)
there’s A Perfect Garden – Pasturage (Gen. 2: 8)
but One Can Only Get There By The Bridge (John 14: 6)
thru Cobblestone Pilgrimage (James 4: 10)
that Leads Into The Great Mountain (Isa. 2: 2-4)
with The Clear Waterfall-Fountain …
(John 4: 14 / Rev. 7: 17
/ Rev. 22: 1)
The Bridge
Stretches Over Smooth
Seas
A Solid Foundation – Paid-Toll Is Free
So Carriage-Rides – With Time To See
May Gaze Into Eternity … …
… from The Humble Village of Heritage
We Celebrate Our Bond With The Bridge
Tho’ We Don’t
Think of It As A Bondage
… to Us – That Would Be Sacrilege !
(and We’re Rid of That Wolf’s Howling-Rage)
… in The Village of My Heritage …
